It is not as easy as in the past to manage the corporation. In order to survive and hold competitive advantage, it is important for the organizations to follow the change and adapt themselves into dynamically changing environment. Managers can sustain market advantage if they can succeed in this, otherwise, the success will be limited to the personal capabilities and initiatives of the managers only.This obviously creates a series of problems to the managers to be sorted out in order to satisfy market requirements. It is therefore important for the organizations to create a future focused team who possess areal orientation towards the same business objectives. This can only be possible through implementing a healthy strategic planning process. Because, strategic planning by definition leads the employees to focus on unexpected events and try to manage them as they appear and establish organizational behaviour cabaple of coping with uncertain and unexpected events.

Strategic plans prepared on the basis of strategic thinking can be a guideline to the managers and other employees to understand and response market requirements.It does not only provide guidance but also makes the employees to be aware of sectoral information and obtain correct information to judge the business progress in the market. It also highlights the vision of the managers which can also reflect the required organizational behaviour and direct the employees along that line.

Defining the best strategy is not enough!

It is not enough to define the best strategy. There must be a way to implement that for the goodness of the enterprise. Bear in mind that, any implementable strategy is always better the best strategy which is not implementable.

In order to implement the strategies the managers should put forward a clear, measurable, realistic, specific, attainable and timely based objectives as well as related business targets to achieve. This should be supported by respective action plans. Monitoring the progress of these action plans will make sure that the business objectives and therefore the related business strartegy is satisified. Each action plan should include action, required resources, starting and finisihing times as well responsible for specific actions.

Strategic planning process can be defined as the set of activities or process that must be followed in order to generate all kinds of strategies to be implemented by a certain organization.

This process identifies the activities that systematically define the organization goals and objectives as well as priorities in order to make the organization to be able to handle dynamic and continuously changing environment.
